2021-2022 Executive Board

Lauren Miller, President

Picture
Lauren has been an active school and community volunteer wherever the State Department has sent her family over the past 17 years. She returned to FCC in summer 2020 after a three-year tour in Dakar, Senegal with her Foreign Service Officer husband, now 8th grade daughter, and 6th grade son. She chaired the PTA for several years at international schools in Dakar, and Bratislava, Slovakia as well as FCEPTA's International Night during her kids' first stint in FCCPS.  Lauren has found that volunteering with the PTA is a fantastic way to meet new people, learn about her new home, and support the schools. Unsurprisingly, some of her closest friends around the world are fellow PTA volunteers!

Emily Draper, Secretary

Picture
Emily is in her 4th year with the MEHMS PTA and appreciates this team of talented volunteers. She is a happily married mom of two boys. Christopher is a 9th grader at TJHSST and Daniel is in 8th grade. Emily is actively involved in Boy Scouts in the City of Falls Church. Her husband, Nicholas, also serves with the Boy Scouts and volunteers with several school events. Emily enjoys getting to know the fabulous families in our Little City and looks forward to being more involved at MEHMS.

Lindsay DuVal, Treasurer

Picture
Lindsay is looking forward to serving the school community in a more active role as PTA Treasurer.  Lindsay and her husband, Jeff, have been involved in the Falls Church community where they have both served as coaches in various capacities.  Lindsay has assisted on several soccer and basketball teams and Jeff spent many years coaching both Falls Church Kiwanis Little League and Copperheads baseball teams.  Lindsay and Jeff have two boys in FCCPS.  Mason is a 9th grader at Meridian and Parker is a 6th grader at Henderson. Lindsay recently pivoted away from her 20-year career in the legal consulting business to spend more time focused on family and serving within the Falls Church community.

Elizabeth Harkins Meade, President Elect

Picture
Elizabeth hails from Michigan and came to the D.C. area in 1990 to work on Capitol Hill, serving as Legislative Director, Chief of Staff, and Campaign Manager for US Rep. Dave Camp. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University Law School and served as a lobbyist and legal counsel for a trade association. Elizabeth has held numerous community leadership positions, including President of the Village Preservation and Improvement Society, President of the Falls Church Elementary PTA,  President of the George Mason High School PTA and Finance Chair of GMHS All Night Graduation Celebration. Elizabeth currently works as the Development Director at Creative Cauldron.  Elizabeth and Rich Meade have four kids who have been in FCCPS since kindergarten (one who graduated!). Elizabeth loves (in no particular order) golf, Louie her golden, live music, witty banter, summers in Michigan, cleaning, and yoga.   Elizabeth is excited to help support the amazing school staff and teachers who are educating our kids, as well as get to know more cool Henderson parents!

Liz Weatherly, Vice President

Picture
Liz Weatherly is a 12-year resident of Falls Church City. She treasures the relationships she's built within the "Little City" and as Vice President of the Henderson PTA will continue broad outreach to ensure the PTA is a welcoming community for all. Liz has volunteered with the elementary PTA, Rec and Parks youth sports, and High Point Pool. She is looking forward to using her HR skills to welcome new families to the Henderson parent/teacher community. When she's not shaking branches for volunteers or driving her 7th and 8th grade daughters to activities, Liz enjoys reading, gardening, dates with her husband James, family vacations, organizing 75 years of family photos (though that may get old soon), and competing in the Weatherly family Duolingo Spanish lesson streak competition. If your path crosses with Liz's in person, please say hi and introduce yourself - she's got a super power for remembering faces and conversations, but names can be her Achilles Heel!
